Join us for a health lecture with board certified General Surgeon Sharon Shiraga, MD from USC Arcadia Hospital. Dr. Shiraga is highly experienced in minimally invasive surgeries involving the stomach, esophagus and abdominal wall. Dr. Shiraga has expertise with treating gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, and she will discuss the causes, risk factors, symptoms, and treatments of the disease. GERD typically occurs when stomach acid repeatedly flows back into the esophagus tube connecting your mouth and stomach.
