Outpatient Services

At Methodist Hospital, we offer the full range of outpatient services in a convenient, patient-oriented environment. Our diagnostic services include, but are not limited to, laboratory, radiology, cardiodiagnostic, neurodiagnostic, pulmonary function and pre-admission testing procedures. For many of the surgical services performed in the hospital, it is not necessary for patients to stay overnight. In our outpatient surgery program, patients usually can register, undergo surgery and return home within only a few hours. Patients have access to our high-quality staff and sophisticated equipment. Our outpatient surgical services include general, oncology, urology, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, plastic, podiatric, ear, nose and throat surgery.

Medical imaging is one of the most rapidly advancing fields in medicine. Methodist Hospital's radiologists are able to diagnose the entire spectrum of disease. They work in close collaboration with primary care and specialty physicians to interpret imaging studies that will optimize patient care. Through our outpatient services, we offer sophisticated diagnostic radiology procedures, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) scanning, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and X-ray. We are responsive to our referring physicians and patients, and understand the need for a correct and rapid diagnosis.

Methodist Hospital offers advanced woundcare treatment for all types of chronic, non-healing wounds that result from diabetes, pressure ulcers, circulatory problems, traumatic injury, non-healing surgical incisions, burns and other diseases. (A wound is considered non-healing if it has persisted for six weeks without significant improvement.) We offer multidisciplinary wound management through individualized treatment and patient education.

Patients come to Methodist Hospital for a variety of problems resulting from injuries, accidents, or congenital conditions. Outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy can be especially effective in providing pain relief, increase mobility and strength, and address self care and communication difficulties.

Our Occupational Therapists work with patients with impairments in self-care, work and leisure activities and are specially trained certified hand therapists (CHT) who care for patients with injury or impairment of the hand and upper extremity. Speech therapy addresses problems with speech, language and/or swallowing function. Upon evaluation by a licensed therapist, a personalized treatment program that is developed for and with the patient is provided. Our staff works closely with physicians to ensure the highest quality care. We offer many specialized services to meet your needs.
